Explore Ancient Town in Lijiang – Shuhe
2 Miles North West of Lijiang Ancient Town, Shuhe ancient town names “Shaowu” in Naxi Historically. Due to the shape of the peak, it means “village under the mountains”. As one of the earliest settlements of Naxi people in Lijiang’s Bazi, Shuhe town is well preserved on the ancient Tea Horse Road. Besides, it is also a living specimen of Naxi People’s transition from farming civilization to commercial civilization. Moreover, Shuhe is an important part of the world cultural heritage of the ancient city of Lijiang. Interestingly, it was selected as “China Charming Town” by CCTV in 2005.
