Zheduo mountain name in Chinese language means “winding” and in Tibetan this name describe mountain with “lot of winds”. The mountain is 4,298 meters high. Zheduo Mountain is first stop on the way to the highest mountain Kamba La 4,852 meters high. Zheduo Mountain is in Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture part of southwest China’s Sichuan Province.
The east side of the mountain is the mountainous area while the west side is Tibetan Plateau, the real Tibetan area. In the past, people do not know how dangerous to drive through Sichuan-Tibet Road until they get to the Mount Zheduo. The mouth of the mountain is 4298 meters above sea level. Moreover, the pavement is very narrow. It is common to see the landslides. What’s worse, it snows and rains a lot as well in the winter.
However, today the reconstructed road is not like before. Instead, it is no longer difficult to drive through. In addition, the road is smooth and spacious. Because of the strong cut from the Minjiang River, Dadu River and other water systems, the terrain elevation difference is big. The climate there is typical subtropical.
Climate of Zheduo Mountain
Mount Zheduo has an eastern subtropical monsoon climate. It is basically located in the West China rain screen.
The vegetation is dense on the mountain. In the summer, it is very rainy. Meanwhile, in the winter, it is snowy.
