12 Sichuan Jiuzhaigou
Jiuzhaigou National Park is a world famous natural reserves famous for its otherworldly natural beauty. Its name means “valley of nine villages”. It is located in Jiuzhaigou County, an area of Tibetan and Qiang influence 450 km north of Chengdu. It is the first UNESCO heritage site in Sichuan, a deserving title for its great sceneries.
Favored by domestic and foreign travelers are alike, Jiuzhaigou is a wonderland on earth if wonderland can be found. A masterpiece by nature, it is home to countless blue lakes, waterfalls, verdant forests, snow-capped mountains, and sporadic Tibetan and Qiang settlements. Flora and fauna are abundant, the most famous creature among which is the giant panda. Many spots have been developed into popular sites with modern facilities and given beautiful names, such as Panda Lake Waterfall, which has the longest drop in Jiuzhai Valley and freezes in winter, the Pearl Beach, the Arrow Bamboo Lake, the Swan Lake, etc.
