17 Days Tibet Everest Trekking Tour: Kharta Valley Trek
The 17 Days Kharta Valley Trek is for the real adventurers. Our tour takes you on a spectacular walk to Everest east base camp (Khangsung face). You will encounter numerous world famous Himalayan peaks, including Everest, Makalu, Cho oyu, Menlungtse, Gauri Shankar and the Kanchenjunga Massif. You will also explore various cultural and natural wonders that Tibet offers, such as wildlife, glacier, high mountain passes, traditional Tibetan villages, ancient monasteries, rich barley fields, and picturesque yak pastures, etc. The highest point on this trek is Langma La at 5320m. The best time to trek in Kharta Valley is from April to October. In the summer, the entire region turns into a valley of flowers.
We begin our tour either from Lhasa or at Gyirong border between Tibet and Nepal. After time for acclimatization and sightseeing in and around Lhasa, we begin our trek from Kharta Town (or Dampu, a new road was open in 2014). We lead our trek to Lundrubling and the Kaamo Tsangpo Valley through Shao La. Further we lead the way to Khangsung Valley the next day and Pethang Ringmo. Our trekking comprises Hoppo, Kangshung base camp and then the base of Langma La. After all, we return to our destination Lundrubling through Langma. The next day we trek to Kharta and finally drive to Rongbuk Everest Base Camp to see the north face the Everest. After spending more time at the foot of Mt. Everest, we head our way back to your departure point, either Lhasa or Gyirong border.
